If your recipes have been linked to templates, you will not be able to edit them locally. Instead, changes will need to come through the templates themselves. The Recipe Template system is designed so that recipes at multiple locations can be controlled through a single template.
- To update templated recipes you will need to select Recipe Template from the main menu.
- Navigate the Recipe Template menu using the category drop downs and search bar.
- Find the Template you wish to change and click on the name.
- The Template page will be displayed:
- Any changes made to this page will only apply to the Template and not the linked recipes until you use the Update Linked Recipes option.
- New ingredients can be added to the Template using the Select Product option.
- From the product menu, scroll or use the search bar to find your chosen ingredient
- Select your ingredient then enter a quantity and unit to use in the template.
- Click on Save when the details are correct.
- This will add the product to the template's ingredients.
- To remove the original item we are replacing, select the delete icon next to that product's information.
- It is better to add and then delete rather than the other way around when making changes, to ensure the accuracy of the recipe.
- Next, we need to update this change from our template to our linked recipes. To do this we need to click on the Update Linked Recipes button on the bottom right corner of the page.
- Selecting this option will take us to the update page, similar to the original Create Recipe from Template page.
- Here you can either simply update your linked recipes if all the details are correct, or you may need to select items and make changes to your template before you can complete the update.
- If all your items are correct, you can click on the Rollout recipe update from template button and your linked recipes will be updated at all available locations instantly.
