Bulk Product Update

Bulk Product Update

Bulk Product Update can be implemented when a product used in various recipes needs to be replaced by a new product. If you try and do it manually, it could be a very long, time-consuming process. STO allows you to simplify this change-over using this function.

For example, we currently have several recipes using the product 1800 Coconut, however, if we want to replace this product with another product, bulk product update would be the best option

Search for the product 1800 Coconut in the product list as shown below

Click on it to go to the product information screen:

  • From here click on the Recipes tab as shown below:

  • Here you will see a list of recipes this product is used in:

  • We would like to swap the 1800 Coconut product out of these recipes in favor of a replacement product. Rather than go recipe by recipe, we can use Bulk Product Update to change them all at once.

  • Click on the option:
  • Again, you will see the recipe list:

  • Now you can choose a product from the Select Product bar:

  • The product can be found using the search bar directly or by going through the list with compatible packages.
  • Once a product has been selected you will be asked to tick or untick the recipes you would like to swap products for:

  • Use the tick boxes to decide which recipe you wish to change - the tick box next to Recipe Name works as a Select All option.
  • Once finalized, click on Update Selected to make the changes on the system.

All the recipes you have chosen will now feature the new product in place of the old one.

Please note, that this will only work if matching units are available. ML for ML, GR for GR, PAC for PAC, or where conversions are accepted. You will not be able to swap out products with incompatible pack sizes. For example, if a product is in a recipe with the unit 1 ECH, you will not be able to swap it with a product that uses MLs.
