▶️Creating a Recipe (Inclusive of our new development) Follow
This article is concerned with creating recipes directly from the Create Recipe feature.
Stocktake Online offers two ways to create new recipes on the system from the Create Recipe option under Recipes. The difference lies in the process of adding the ingredients. Below are the details:-
New Method (Recent development)
- Upon clicking Recipes > Create Recipe, below is the interface where ingredients are visible by default so can be selected & added on the same page along with assigning other recipe details like sales category, PLU, price, etc.
The product can be searched with its name or group & needs to be clicked to add to the recipe.
Upon selecting, it will be added & shown on the Ingredients part on the right side where the quantity needs to be added or the ingredient can be removed from the recipe.
Once finalized, click on Save Recipe to save it in the system. The recipe will now be available in the recipe list. Please note other details about other recipe creation fields have been explained in the later part of this page.
Above is the new process for recipe creation, you can switch to the old way anytime by clicking on the below option on the top right corner of the recipe creation page.
Old Method
- The old method for recipe creation has a product addition process in a slightly different manner where you need to click on Add Ingredients followed by updating other details as listed below.
Mandatory fields:-
- The Recipe creation screen requires:
- Recipe Name - A name for your recipe.
- Group - A Sales Category for your recipe.
- At least one ingredient.
Optional fields:-
- To properly use your recipe you will also need:
- PLU - An EPoS ID/SKU/Unique Identification code to connect the recipe to your sales software.
- Sales Price – Gross Profit % will be displayed next to your price according to the cost of your ingredients.
- Tax (%) - tax percentage on the recipe, this will probably be set to a particular default based on your location.
- Comments - any relevant comments you may wish to add to your recipe.
- You can also upload image(s) (1 - 3)of your recipe.
- Tag this item can be used to tag this recipe for the Recipe GP Analysis report.
- Target GP (%) is used to set a target GP % for the recipe & keep a trace of it with the changes in sales price.
- Calories Count feature is only for reference purpose at the moment.
- Recipes can be made from one ingredient or many. To add a new ingredient, click the Add Ingredients button to display the ingredient field.
- First, select the category, and then the individual ingredient for your recipe, information for its pack size and price will be displayed accordingly.
- Change the unit type as desired and type in the quantity of the ingredient you wish to use; the cost will be automatically generated.
- Repeat as necessary for each ingredient.
- If you wish to remove an ingredient, click the red X on the right side of the ingredient’s information -
- Once all the ingredients have been added and you are happy with the information for the recipe, click on Save Recipe.
Once saved, it will be available under the recipes list.
