Batches can be created directly through the Create Batch feature or created through templates.

  • You will be shown a screen very similar to the Create Recipe screen, as the process is much the same.

  • Similar to recipes, the batch recipe creation screen requires:
    1. Batch Name - A name for your batch.
      1. Group - A Sales Category for your recipe.
    2. At least one ingredient.
    3. Unlike a recipe, a batch requires a batch output and a product category.

  • A batch can have, but does not require:
    1. PLU - An EPoS ID/SKU/Unique Identification code to connect the recipe to your sales software.
    2. Sales Price – Gross Profit % will be displayed next to your price according to the cost of your ingredients.
    3. Tax (%) - tax percentage on the recipe, this will probably be set to a particular default based on your location.
    4. Comments - any relevant comments you may wish to add to your recipe.
    5. You can also upload image(s) (1 - 3)of your recipe.
  • Batches can be made from one ingredient or many. To add a new ingredient, click the Add Ingredients button to display the ingredient field.

  • First, select the category, and then the individual ingredient for your batch, information for its pack size and price will be displayed accordingly.

  • Change the unit type as desired and type in the quantity of the ingredient you wish to use; the cost will be automatically generated.
  • Repeat as necessary for each ingredient.
  • If you wish to remove an ingredient, click the red X on the right side of the ingredient’s information - Red_X.PNG
  • Add a product category to your batch – we recommend maintaining a separate category, named something like ‘Batches’ where this batch will reside.

  • Add the amount this recipe will create; ‘Batch output’ – in a relevant measurement unit, LT, KG or POR is always recommended.
  • You can also add a yield percentage to this amount, depending on your requirements. If you leave the yield field blank it will default to 100%.
  • Once all the ingredients have been added and you are happy with the information for the batch, click on the Save Batch button.
