▶️Creating a Batch Follow
Batches can be created directly through the Create Batch feature or created through templates.
- You will be shown a screen very similar to the Create Recipe screen, as the process is much the same.
- Similar to recipes, the batch recipe creation screen requires:
- Batch Name - A name for your batch.
- Group - A Sales Category for your recipe.
- At least one ingredient.
- Unlike a recipe, a batch requires a batch output and a product category.
- Batch Name - A name for your batch.
- A batch can have, but does not require:
- PLU - An EPoS ID/SKU/Unique Identification code to connect the recipe to your sales software.
- Sales Price – Gross Profit % will be displayed next to your price according to the cost of your ingredients.
- Tax (%) - tax percentage on the recipe, this will probably be set to a particular default based on your location.
- Comments - any relevant comments you may wish to add to your recipe.
- You can also upload image(s) (1 - 3)of your recipe.
- Batches can be made from one ingredient or many. To add a new ingredient, click the Add Ingredients button to display the ingredient field.
- First, select the category, and then the individual ingredient for your batch, information for its pack size and price will be displayed accordingly.
- Change the unit type as desired and type in the quantity of the ingredient you wish to use; the cost will be automatically generated.
- Repeat as necessary for each ingredient.
- If you wish to remove an ingredient, click the red X on the right side of the ingredient’s information -
- Add a product category to your batch – we recommend maintaining a separate category, named something like ‘Batches’ where this batch will reside.
- Add the amount this recipe will create; ‘Batch output’ – in a relevant measurement unit, LT, KG, or POR is always recommended. Batch Output units are limited to the available dropdown list. We recommend preparing batches in higher units as they're usually prepared in bulk.
- You can add a yield percentage to this amount as needed. If left blank, the yield defaults to 100%. Note: If batch output is adjusted based on produced quantity, the yield must be 100%.
- Once all the ingredients have been added and you are happy with the batch information, click the Save Batch button.
